Rome has been my hometown for more than 20 years now. My knowledge of the city's history and sights was limited at first, but the longer I lived here, the more interested I became. I started to visit museums, churches and monuments to try to understand the city of Rome better. In the end, I decided to study Art History and Ancient History at the university. It was very rewarding to be able to go out and study directly on the sites, what we were reading about in the various courses, and often within walking distance. I have a Master's degree with a major in Art History and a minor in Ancient History. In my thesis I examine six different Renaissance portraits of Italian women and the clothing and the jewellery they are wearing.
My knowledge of Italy is extensive, having lived and traveled in all parts of the country for more than 25 years. I am happy to share my own experiences and I can tell you about Italy from many point of views, about contemporary events and different habits. The guide job has given me many new interests such as Ancient History, Architecture, Art History, and Archaeology. In addition to Swedes, Norwegians and Finnish Swedes, I have guided smaller and larger groups with English-speaking people from all over the world. It is very stimulating and inspiring to meet new people in Rome with whom I can share these interests. Rome is my favorite city which I am proud and happy to show to the many visitors who come here. I hope I succeed in conveying my passion for the city, so that your stay in Rome will be an unforgettable memory.
